Today I wanted to share with you a little project that I did in our new place. This is one of the first things that I put together once settling in. Finishing a small project gives me a little boost before diving into WAY bigger projects (more on that to come!) I enjoy celebrating the tiny victories in life! So my first project was this coffee cart for our kitchen. It was inspired by Elsie’s Espresso Cart from A Beautiful Mess. (P.s. A Beautiful Mess was probably the first blog I ever started reading!) I had this coffee cart pinned onto a Pinterest board for awhile and knew it would be a hit in our house. Anytime we travel, my husband ditches the t-shirts and souvenirs, and always brings back a bag of coffee beans. He has collected a lot over the years so I knew he would especially love this! It was so fun and super easy to put together!
A fun story about the Thai Jungle beans (our personal favorite) … Our friends, Rich and Melissa, that we met while in Thailand also loved coffee to death and we would usually go out to lunch every Sunday afternoon with them and often ended up at a coffee shop afterwards. Thailand has some great coffee shops and they felt like a little piece of home for us, so our love for coffee really started there! Rich loves to mountain bike and one day when he was mountain biking, he smelled coffee and decided to follow his nose. He came across a gentlemen in a tin shack who was roasting coffee beans. He lived on his coffee farm, roasted the beans, put them in burlap sacks, and took them down the mountain to the town and sold them to the local coffee shops. When Rich and Melissa shared this coffee with us, we were hooked! Now that Jesse and I are back in the States, we like to trade care packages back and forth with Rich and Melissa who are still living in Thailand.. while we send them items they miss from America, they mail us back a box of these precious coffee beans!
See? It was so easy to put together and probably wouldn’t even classify as a DIY it’s so simple. But I thought I would share just a peek into my first project in our new home. 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend!
