It’s been a fun-filled life around here lately. Here’s what we’ve been up to…
We have a great little coffee shop in town which we frequent to quite often! Lately I’ve been going for the carmel lattes and Jesse’s current favorite are the chai lattes.
We visited St. Louis for the first time this week! It was Jesse’s birthday on Tuesday and we decided to celebrate by driving to St. Louis for an overnight trip. I love going all out for birthdays to make that person feel extra loved and celebrated! So we headed off to St. Louis for a fun birthday celebration! As you can see it was a pretty foggy morning but still a perfect day to check out the city.
Jesse chose sushi for his birthday dinner so we found a great restaurant downtown which proved to be a hit!
I found a great deal at this Double Tree hotel and it was amazing! It used to be the train station and Hilton turned it into a beautiful downtown hotel. Not only was the hotel really neat, the service was outstanding. We had a relaxing evening and spent the next day looking around the city and shopping. It was a really fun time celebrating my favorite guy!
Now we’re back into the swing of things at home. We are gearing up for Orphan Sunday at our church this week. Orphan Sunday is a day for people all across the country to stand up and be the voice for orphans around the globe. Adoption is something that Jesse and I are very passionate about and is very close to both of our hearts. We feel called to adopt internationally and it’s something we look forward to and talk about quite often. While we lived in Thailand, we had the chance to partner with an orphanage and it was such a blessing to help out and spend time with the sweet kids there. Our organization that we worked for in Thailand continues to work alongside that same orphanage today raising awareness and money for their needs. You can find out more here 🙂 One of my most favorite things is hearing other people’s adoption stories. Some of my favorite blogs to read are those families who have documented their adoption journey. Here are two of my favorites – Mix and Match Family & Under the Sycamore. You should definitely check them out!
That’s just a little bit about what we’ve been up to lately. While we were shopping in St. Louis, the mall was playing Christmas music…. what!?! Our Halloween decorations from trunk or treat are still in our cars, no joke. We haven’t made Thanksgiving plans yet.. let alone Christmas! Christmas always creeps up on me..and then I start to panic..and then I thank the Lord that we have Amazon Prime 2-day shipping. So here’s to being on-time and organized this year! 🎄
