November is here! Although the fall weather has been pretty nice around here lately, I know the colder weather will be here before we know it! The cooler temps of fall and winter can be especially rough on your skin. Today I’ll be sharing a look into my fall morning routine and a few beauty tips and tricks for you to incorporate into your routine!
I wake up first thing in the morning and usually turn over my phone to check notifications and emails. I know, I know.. but really, who doesn’t do this? Instagram, Facebook, Emails.. check. And although Jesse and I usually read the Bible together in the evenings before bed, starting out the day with a short devo and prayer really does make a good start to the day!
Since I work from home, I don’t normally have to get up and out the door by a certain time. But by actually getting ready for the day, it helps me feel more motivated! Changing out of my pjs and pulling my hair up does wonders! A quick run through the shower does the trick as well! I don’t wash my hair every day so I will just pull it up in a bun while I shower.
Taking special care of your skin is so important this time of year. A new product that I have heard so much about is the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer. Honestly, I’ve never liked applying lotion immediately after showering – I don’t like the feeling of applying a sticky lotion on clean skin. But the thought of applying a lightweight lotion in the shower? I was all for trying this out – plus it’s very affordable and can be found at Walmart!
I picked up two scents – the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Cherry Almond Essence (which is an exclusive scent to Walmart) as well as the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil. Here’s the simple rundown of applying this moisturizer:
– Immediately after showering, apply it on wet skin.
– Use about a dime-sized amount for each arm and a quarter-sized amount for each leg.
– Then just dry off as normal, and that’s it!
This Jergens moisturizer is made specifically to work on wet skin, making it such a time-saving product! It’s also lightweight and doesn’t feel sticky! Not only do you save time by applying it in the shower, but it absorbs immediately for all day softness!
Hair + Makeup
On more laid-back days where I’m going to the coffee shop or running errands, I stick to a basic makeup routine. After using a good face moisturizer I will usually use an under-eye concealer, foundation, bronzer, blush and mascara. Another beauty tip is to use products that can be multi-purpose. You can use cream blush for your lips or bronzer as eyeshadow – the easier the better!
Since I don’t wash my hair everyday, dry shampoo is my go-to! It works wonders and really amps up second or third-day hair! Another thing I like to do is wear second-day curls. Taking the time to curl your hair one day can save you time the next. By the second day, your curls will look really pretty and flowy, and you may only need to touch up a few pieces!
Coffee + Work
Next up for my morning routine, I’ll usually grab my computer and head to our local coffee shop here in town. Jesse and I will head in there, order some coffee, and get some work done. I usually spend my time responding to emails and editing photos and get a lot accomplished! If you work from home, try getting out of the house, and if possible, take your work to a coffee shop or cafe! It helps keep you on task and focused!
So that’s a look into my morning routine and some of my quick tips and tricks. The great thing is that your morning beauty products can be minimal and can also be affordable! You don’t have to break the bank to carry out your morning routine with good products. Make sure to check out the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer (I give it two thumbs up!).
