Happy Valentine’s Day! Whatever your plans are for the day, I hope you are able to spend it with the ones you love. Today I wanted to share a little hair, makeup, and outfit inspiration! My goal was to create a soft, glowy, and romantic look that would be perfect for this day of love. Check below for all the details!
Outfit – This soft pink top from Sunday Brunch is the perfect choice for a romantic feel. The lace detail and flow of the shirt is gorgeous. The back criss-cross detail is another added bonus. (p.s. you can use code JESSY20 to get 20% off your purchase at Sunday Brunch) For a romantic outfit, choose pieces with pretty details like lace, a flattering fit, and soft, pretty colors. Pair it with some cute skinny jeans and high heels or heeled boots Tip: When I wear lighter colors, I definitely have to tan my skin a bit, so this has become my favorite tanning mousse!
Hair – I envisioned this Valentine’s look with a pretty braid. I chose to create a side, dutch french braid. A dutch braid simply means that instead of crossing the hair pieces over, you cross them underneath, creating a more 3D, textured effect! Pulling the loops apart after tying off your braid gives it even more of an effortless look. The more “undone” the braid is, the better! Tip: Try using a texturing spray before you begin braiding, like this one. Adding a braid to any hairstyle adds such a pretty, feminine detail!
Makeup – For this makeup look, I wanted to keep it soft while also creating an overall glow. Here are some of my tips for creating a “glow from within:” 1. Laying down an even base makes blending everything else 100% easier – start with moisturizer, make sure your foundation is blended well (using a damp beauty blender is the perfect tool), and set your face with a setting powder (this one is my favorite). 2. Instead of harsh contouring, try using a big fluffy brush to apply bronzer. 3. Highlighters are the key! This product is the perfect topper over your blush that gives a pretty sheen to the skin, and this palette looks so pretty lightly dusted over the high points of the face – cheek bones, forehead, and down the center of the nose. Concentrate more highlighting product on two spots – the tops of your cheek bones and the inner corners of the eyes. 4. Opt for a soft smokey eye using neutral tones and add a few champagne shimmery shades in the center of the lid. 5. Top off the look with some soft lashes (my current faves) and a glossy lip! See below for the specific products I used to create this look!
I hope you all have a lovely Valentine’s Day! xo.
