Happy Tuesday everyone! So you guys knowww how I am about finding a good deal. Well, I think I just upped the game. Brace yourselves for this one… I saved $186.05 on my recent order from thredUP. Yes, nearly $200!
I had heard about thredUP in the past but had never ordered anything from them. To give you a quick rundown, thredUP is a retail website for people to buy and sell high-quality secondhand clothes. You can browse their site and search by clothing type, color, size, clothing brand, etc. Also, you can order a Clean Out Bag to fill with your own clothes to sell and earn cash or credit.
Right now thredUP is running a #LoveLifeInColor Campaign. This summer, they are encouraging their customers to wear more color! I can totally relate to this because I am usually drawn to more neutral-colored clothes. I took on the challenge a few weeks ago to buy more color, and to also see what great prices I could find. When I began browsing their site I intentionally searched by specific brand names. My goal was to purchase clothing brands that are more high-end that I don’t purchase on a regular basis. From there I filtered down my search by size.
Here are the five items that I purchased from thredUP. (Also, keep reading until the end..there may be details about a giveaway!)
#1 & #2
Madewell Tee – Original Price $60 // Purchased Price $4.99 // 90% 0ff!
Madewell is known for their high-quality basic pieces. I couldn’t pass up this top when I saw the sale price, and I wanted to try the brand out for myself. I read that Madewell typically runs big so I felt confident with this being an XXS. I am very happy with the fit and quality of this tee! You can never have too many basics pieces in your wardrobe.
BDG Denim Shorts – Original Price $36 // Purchased Price $6.99 // 80% off!
I think denim is one of the hardest things to buy online, but again, the price tag got me! I’ve heard of the brand before, which is sold at Urban Outfitters, but have never purchased anything of theirs. These distressed shorts are high rise and actually fit well. I am definitely happy I took the chance on them!
American Eagle Peplum Top – Original Price $35 // Purchased Price $6.99 // 80% off!
The royal blue color is what caught my eye on this top! I’ve always had great luck with AE clothes, in terms of quality and sizing, so I was pretty confident with this choice. Again, this top fits perfectly. The only thing is that the material is a little thinner than I expected. Still, this is another top that I will definitely get lots of use out of!
Lush Striped Dress – Original Price $48 // Purchased Price $8.99 // 80% off!
Lush is a brand that I am familiar with and have purchased from Nordstrom in the past. In fact, I have several Lush brand dresses and shirts in my closet right now. Although it’s so hard to pick, this dress may be my favorite item from my entire thredUP order. It fits absolutely perfect and I love the A-line flair and the sweetheart neckline. And stripes are obviously my fave!
Lush Maxi Dress – Original Price $48 // Purchased Price $12.99 // 70% off!
This maxi dress is also from Lush. The material is super soft and great quality. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a solid colored maxi dress because it’s the perfect blank canvas. Also, this orange-ish, coral color is perfect to transition from summer into fall!
I am SO happy with each of my items. It was a fun challenge to take on in order to find some fun colored pieces to add to my closet. It’s so exciting when your money can go so far, especially on high-quality, brand name items! My first purchase from thredUP was a huge success. I am excited to let you guys know that I am partnering with thredUP to host a giveaway to win money to shop on their site. Head over to my Instagram account later on this afternoon to enter to win!! Good luck! xo.
