If you are a makeup lover like me, than there’s a pretty good chance that you are familiar, aquatinted, and slightly obsessed with this new makeup launch. Morphe is a brand that I have personally loved for several years now. Their 35O eyeshadow palette is one of my holy grails and their makeup brushes are some of my favorites. When Youtube star, Jaclyn Hill, announced that she collaborated with Morphe to create this custom palette, the makeup world had their alarms set and ready for launch day.
Due to all the hype, the eyeshadow palette sold out in 45 minutes on launch day! I was actually in a meeting and didn’t get my hands on it the first time. When the restock date was announced, I made sure to set a reminder on my phone and grab it then. I heard that the palette actually sold out faster on the restock date than the original launch day, but I hung in there and waited in line on the website and got it! Another restock date has been set for next Tuesday, August 22nd.
Today I wanted to share my thoughts on this widely popular palette.
The palette sells for $38 plus shipping. Most well-known beauty Youtubers have a 10% off discount code that can be applied. Jaclyn’s code is “JACATTACK.”
The palette has 35 custom eyeshadow shades. The colors and actual formula of the shadows are exclusive to this palette, which Jaclyn was personally involved in creating. The palette includes satin, shimmer, and matte finishes. While a lot of the palette has warm tones, it also includes smokey colors and a few pops of color.
In my opinion, I think this palette is definitely worth the hype. It delivers in versatility and quality. The matte shades are ultra smooth and the shimmers are packed with shine. All of the shades are very pigmented, yet still blend very well. As I was packing my suitcase to travel to the east coast this week, I felt like I didn’t need to pack a ton of eyeshadow palettes because this one offers so much and you can, no doubt, create many different looks from it.
Getting 35 custom shades for $38 seems like a fair price to me. Many well-known eyeshadow palettes found at Sephora & Ulta that include an average of only 15 shades in a palette can run you $50 or more. With this in mind, $38 for a wide range of shadows (35 shades) seems like a great deal.
All in all, I think this palette is a definite thumbs up. To all my beauty lovers out there: this palette is a must-have!
I would love to know if any of you have gotten your hands on this palette yet and what you think of it. If not, are you planning on jumping on the bandwagon and getting it next week? Let me know! Have a great Friday everyone! xo.
